COFFE FAQ
What is so special about harpoon holly coffees?
Harpoon Holly Brand coffees are sourced from a roaster in California who believes that sustainability is fundamental to success. This roaster is a family run business that can trace your brew from farm to cup! All coffees are specialty grade and ethically traded with a focus on relationships and respect for the farm and the farmer. Each lot is carefully evaluated based on cup quality, farm process, and sustainable practice. Every bag of coffee sold supports World Coffee Research - a non-profit that assists farmers with the tools, knowledge, and plants necessary to adapt to the changing climate!
Each individual coffee profile is created based on the best roast level for that particular lot. The result is the freshest, small batch, craft roasted coffee available.
And all of our coffees are roasted to order meaning they are roasted, packed, and shipped all on the same day!
How quickly does my coffee ship once it is roasted?
Have you noticed that amazing fresh roasted scent when you first open your package from Harpoon Holly Brand Coffee? It’s no coinidence. All of our coffee products are roasted to order - roasted/packed and shipped on the same day! Each brew is a small batch craft roast roasted at the exact roasting level for that particular lot. Orders generally deliver to customers in 3-4 business days. It really doesn’t get any fresher or more flavorful!
How can I make cold brew coffee at home?
Making cold brew at home is a fun, cost effective way to enjoy your favorite iced coffee now that the warmer weather is here. There are several ways to make cold brew at home - from a dedicated cold brew coffee maker to a jar and cheese cloth! We like to use a french press..
Using a 1 liter (34 oz.) french press - fill the press with about one inch of course ground cold brew coffee. This is an art and everyone has different tastes. You will want to play with the amount of coffee you use but this is a good place to start. Fill the press with cold or room temp filtered water. Stir to wet the grounds. Place the lid on the press just enough to cover the ground that have floated to the top. Do not press down. Let this sit on your kitchen counter for 12-14 hours. Push the press down all the way and pour out coffee into a glass container. Now pour yourself a cup, fix as desired, and enjoy! Leftover cold brew can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks but who would really let it sit that long??
